Why do religious think its disgraceful to call us mere animals/monkeys?

They are offended about the fact we can go for the treese to the moon personaly I don't find it offensive- then agian I beleive the existance of the Universe is proff of the existance of God. Yuou can disagree but we'd have to be able to step out side the universe to prove that.
