Do beta fish tales grow back?

2 pieces of my beta fish's tale were ripped off and i was wondering if it would grow back and if he'll continue living normally because this happened about 1 hour ago and he seems fine but i hope he'll stay fine and he's not in any sort of pain maybe?? and just will it grow back? thanks.
