What's your opinion on what my friends said to me?

Sounds to me like your friends could learn a few things from you. As a grown man, it is nice to see young people who have manners. And you are right, the lack of manners in young people today is sad. I applaud you in your manners and self respect. Please keep up the good work of being an example to young people where their parents have obviously failed.
