I have an Indian Runner who has ripped of his dew claw a few weeks ago, this morning when taking them outside?

I noticed he was limping and would not stand on his foot. I have never noticed this before I am wondering what I need to look for. I checked his foot and didn't notice anything abnormal other than his rear claw missing but the area isn't inflamed. What else should I look for ? What could possibly be the matter with my poor duckie's foot/ leg.
