How is it that abortion is still legal in this day and age?

How is killing helpless innocent babies still legal? I thought we lived in a humane and civil society now. Might as bring back public executions, human sacrifice and torture. It's so barbaric and primitive, I thought we have moved passed such primitive behaviors. Women who do this are disgraceful and should be ashamed of themselves.
